Making a Difference

Welcome to the website of Venn Primary Care Network (PCN).

Our family of local GP practices are working together to transform health services in the Hull area.

Whilst aiming to improve all aspects of health provision, we have identified some clear local priorities that will receive our special attention. PCNs were formed to provide support to groups of GP practices working together with community, mental health, social care, pharmacy, hospital and voluntary services in a local area.

We build on existing primary care services  to enable greater provision of proactive personalised, coordinated and more integrated health and social care for people living close to home.

Spirometry is a simple, non-invasive procedure and common diagnostic test used to assess lung function and detect various respiratory conditions, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and pulmonary fibrosis. It does so by measuring the volume and flow of air that a person can inhale and exhale. During a spirometry test, a patient breathes into a device called a spirometer, which measures the volume and flow of air expelled from the lungs.

Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) is a common condition where a build up of fatty deposits in the arteries restricts blood supply to the leg muscles. Many people with PAD have no symptoms but some develop a painful ache in their legs when they walk, which usually disappears after a few minutes' rest.  An ankle brachial pressure index (ABPI) test is a painless test which compares the blood flow in your ankle with the blood flow in your arm. Contact your Practice to arrange an ABPI test.
