Health Information Week 2026

Health Information Week is a national celebration of accessible, trustworthy health information. Running from 19–25 January, it brings together NHS teams, libraries, charities, and community organisations to support people in making informed decisions about their health.

What’s Happening This Week?

Each day focuses on a key theme that matters to individuals and families across the country:

  • Monday: Children and Young People
  • Tuesday: Translated Patient Information
  • Wednesday: Women’s Health
  • Thursday: Mental Health
  • Friday: Winter Health

Why It Matters

Good health decisions start with good information. Whether you're managing a condition, supporting a loved one, or looking to improve your wellbeing, this week encourages you to ask questions, explore reliable resources, and build confidence in your choices.

How You Can Get Involved

  • Look for trusted sources – such as NHS sites, health charities, and local services
  • Use your local library or health centre for leaflets, translations, and signposting
  • Take part in events, displays or webinars throughout the week
  • Share helpful resources with friends, family and your community

Health Information Week is about empowering everyone with the knowledge to live well and confidently navigate their healthcare.
